A look back at six months of work from the Woodrow Africa team, across clients, continents and communities.
The first half of 2026 has kept the Kenya team moving. Here is a look back at everything the team has been up to.
In January, Bupa Global brought together over 30 senior leaders in healthcare at the UK-Kenya Business Forum in Nairobi. The roundtable focused on how to invest in care at pace and build workforce capacity in Kenya. Joanne Gichana supported on the ground.
Separately, BIC marked 50 years of BIC shavers with a commuter activation, partnering with Radio Africa Group to surprise matatu passengers with covered fares and quick trivia, reaching more than 200,000 people across Facebook, Instagram and X.
In February, our Back-to-School campaign with BIC came together, highlighting stories of how BIC helps families manage school costs. BIC has reached over 1.53 million learners in Kenya through programmes focused on penmanship and cognitive development. We also supported the Difference She Makes campaign, led by Purpose, which celebrates the everyday wins of women shaping justice across Africa.
In March, two of the Kenya team travelled to Malindi for the launch of a community borehole now serving more than 11,000 people across four villages, made possible by Bupa's commitment to longer, healthier lives. David Karega and Tamara Odhiambo also led a two-day production shoot for CGIAR's Scaling for Impact programme, filming leadership conversations that bring the ambition behind the project to life.
In April, the team supported the Surround Sound Kenya initiative with Shuga Global and Shujaaz Inc, helping young people in Kenya address negative social norms through storytelling and culture. Website design wrapped and coding began, with preparations underway for the International SBCC Summit in Panama City.
May closed with a C-suite roundtable on counterfeit goods and illicit trade, with more than 40 leaders from across Kenya's private sector, and Joanne Gichana representing Woodrow at Bupa Global's first African Intermediary Advisory Board meeting in Livingstone.
And the month that capped it all: Woodrow was named Africa Agency of the Year 2026 by PRovoke Media. Our second SABRE back-to-back. A milestone that belongs to every person on the team
