AGRA: Leading Africa's Food Systems Forum

The Africa Food Systems Forum 2024 brought together 4,900 delegates from 97 countries, including 9 heads of state, 37 ministers and over 40 heads of international agencies. Held in collaboration with 30 key partners including USAID and the Rockefeller Foundation, the event aimed to drive forward-thinking policies and scalable solutions to transform the continent's food systems. Woodrow was tasked with leading global media engagement and event coordination across the full programme.

Impact

The forum achieved over 200 pieces of earned media coverage globally, reaching a combined audience of 70.6 million through featured publications. The hashtag #AFSF2024 trended on X in Rwanda, and the CNBC Africa studio partnership amplified key discussions on innovation and investment in African food systems. The forum emerged as the leading platform for food systems transformation, shaping actionable policies to secure the future of Africa's food security.

Approach

Working with over 30 key partners, we secured extensive media coverage across international and Pan-African press outlets, launched in-country out-of-home advertising campaigns and produced tailored digital content for a diverse global audience. During the forum, we hosted over 70 journalists, managed press conferences and coordinated a studio partnership with CNBC Africa. We oversaw podcast creation, produced a daily newsletter and managed live coverage across seven-plus rooms, with our AV team collecting real-time quotes for ongoing reporting.
