Economist Impact: Elevating the Economist Sustainability Summit

The Economist Impact Sustainability Series celebrated its 10th anniversary in London, bringing together over 2,000 senior stakeholders from across Europe, making it one of the continent's longest-running sustainability forums. Our brief was to elevate the event's profile, attract top-tier media and reinforce its standing as a premier platform for sustainability leadership, at a moment when the credibility and relevance of such events was under increasing public scrutiny.

Impact

The campaign drew attendance from 60+ journalists and secured over 20 high-impact features, including prominent coverage in the Wall Street Journal and on CNBC. Effective crisis management ensured seamless event execution, while strategic digital content significantly extended the summit's reach and longevity, ensuring the conversations started in London continued to shape the global sustainability agenda in the weeks that followed.

Approach

We collaborated closely with global figures including John Kerry and Andrew Forrest to shape engaging panel discussions and media-friendly narratives. Our proactive media strategy secured top-tier journalists, and we managed an exclusive CSO club of 100 influential sustainability executives to amplify insights and extend the reach of key discussions. We also proactively handled a protest-related crisis, safeguarding the event's reputation, and created targeted social content to extend engagement beyond the room.
